The Best Giveaway in the World

This giveaway is now closed. Check back bright and early Monday morning for the lucky winner!

OK, I might be exaggerating just a bit. But I have to admit, even me who doesn’t admit much, that this is pretty good. I thought long and hard about this. I thought maybe I would even giveaway a Tailor’s Ham and Seam Roll set from the shop. But then this idea just hit me, as I was wearing the silly dress that I made from this pattern. Hit me like a rock. Seriously, it was that hard.

Let’s start this off by me talking about how I like kits. I’m a very “kit” oriented person. You know those food kits that you can buy at the store? Yeah, I go crazy when I see those. One of my favorites being the “taco kit.” Yes, its true. I really love kits.

Though this is not an entire kit, it does at least includes the most vital elements, the fabric and the pattern. And besides, kits usually come with instructions for you to buy a few things anyway. How much better can this get? A “Sewing Project Kit” for you to make your own Naughty Secretary Dress.

Here’s what you’ll get if you win:

  • Simplicity 2724, in your size, I might just add. I’ll be buying this after the winner is selected.
  • the skirt and top fabric (keep in mind, this is a dress). The top fabric is a cotton print, a warmer tone for Fall and the bottom is the exact same I used on my Naughty Secretary Dress. You’ll receive enough of the top fabric to make the bodice and the short sleeve version and enough of the bottom fabric to make either the slim or full skirted option.

Now, if you didn’t like my Naughty Secretary Dress, well I guess this giveaway isn’t for you. I also need to mention that I’m not including the fabric for the lining (if you indeed want a lining) the thread or the zipper, but I figure you might want just a little bit of your own creativity infused into the project.

How to enter:

  • Leave your calling card in the comments section (you know, just leave me a comment. please enter your email address in the first part. its not published, except to me and wild horses couldn’t drag it from me, in other words, your email is safe with me)
  • For a Double Double (yes, like In N Out) leave a calling card and become a fan of my Facebook Page (don’t worry, if you’re already a fan, I’ll take that into consideration)
  • For a Triple Play (like Comcast) leave a calling card, become a Facebook fan and subscribe to me in your blog reader

Lucky Strike for the winner. And International Participants are welcome to enter! I’ll be picking the winner at random bearing in mind how many times you’ve thrown yourself into the ring. This giveaway ends Friday, September 10 at midnight. I’ll be announcing the winner on Monday, September 13.

Play nice now!

  11. Yes, yes, yes! A giveaway…I love that pattern. Not too sure that I’ll be able to sew much of it without my mom’s talent involved, but she’s close by so I can manage. Triple fun-I’m already a fan on facebook and you’re in my blog reader.

  33. Thank you for the giveaway! That’s so nice of you! FYI-I’ve been a fan in FB for a bit. I think I was fan # twenty something when you first started. Your fabric choices are beautiful and wouldn’t mind looking like a naughty librarian…well maybe just librarian (I’m not sure if I can pull off naughty).

  40. Wow–that really IS one of the best sewing giveaways I’ve ever seen. (Just wanted to say that– as much as part of me is jumping up and down and saying “pick me, pick me”, part of me wonders if the yellow would just look awful on me! So you can disregard this as an entry to give other people a chance. I can always get the pattern on my own sometime. πŸ™‚

  41. Sunni! I am loving your self stitched September! Everything is so fashionable and very inspiring for me to keep sewing. Maybe I can join in the fun when I have made a few more things.

  42. love the fabric choices! I already have the pattern…I was just undecided as to fabrics…until I saw your version.
Am following blog and just liked you on FB (I don’t spend tons of time on there, so I don’t always think of that first)

  43. LOVE IT! I just started sewing this summer and have this dress on my list of future projects to try as soon as I master button holes. (I’m so proud that I’ve just figured out sleeves and zippers.) I’ll just add that I love your blog and say thanks for all of the inspiration and handy tips for my new favorite hobby.

  44. Hi, your blog was one of the first I found, that got me back into sewing earlier this year. I loved your secretary dress, along with everything else you have made! I am a FB fan and have you in my blog list

  45. Wow, what an amazing giveaway! I’e been so very enamored with your naughty secretary dress for so long! Being in my final year at university I’m starting to realise that I need some work/interview-appropriate clothes and my first thought was this pattern. I went to buy it last weekend but tragedy struck and the fabric shop had completely sold out!
This is a good opportunity for me to ask actually – how do I subscribe to your blog? I tried it before by clicking on the ‘subscribe’ button at the top but it just took me to a different page that still had all the same posts on it? Apologies for my lack of technical expertise!
P.S. That yellow fabric is amazing!!

  46. Wow, thanks for offering such a brilliant giveaway (and I’m with you on the taco kits!). Being in my final year of university, I’ll be needing some work/interview appropriate clothes and I’ve been so enamored with your naughty secretary dress that I purposefully went out to buy the pattern last weekend, but alas! Tragedy! The fabric shop had sold out!
I really enjoy your blog and have tried to subscribe before, but clicking the ‘subscribe’ button at the top just takes me to a different page with the blog posts on it (it has the blog url with the word atom in it?) It would be great to find out how to actually subscribe! Apologies for my lack of technical prowess.

  47. I just loved your naughty secretary dress so yes, I confirm : this is the best giveaway of the world πŸ˜‰ Thank you to open it to international readers! I took the opportunity to tell you that I love all your posts: continue like that! Emilie from Liege,Belgium.
